Biography

Nate Chen is a rookie in Formula DRIFT PRO for 2026. He drives a 900 horsepower Toyota GT86 in association with Jerry Yang Racing. Nate’s path to Formula Drift PRO was earned through a runner-up finish in the 2025 Formula DRIFT PROSPEC championship where he went back-to-back podiums winning in St. Louis and finishing 2nd in New Jersey. He is the first person to go from media credential holder (shooting video for fellow Kenda teammate, Ryan Tuerck in 2010-2012 at FDNJ) to Formula Drift Pro driver. Nate has over 20 podiums and 8 wins throughout his drifting career including receiving a 1st place trophy from the Drift King himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya.Outside of Formula DRIFT, Nate is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Fire Equity, a private investment firm focused on partnering with founders and management teams to build and scale businesses in the Defense & Government Technology sector.He graduated from the College of William & Mary with a BBA in Finance and resides in Washington, D.C.
